Miss Universe Portugal Andreia Correia slay in Mexico with a dress by João Sousa Brand

Miss Universe 2024 marks a historic moment for Portugal, with Andreia Correia becoming the first black woman to represent the country in the pageant, which will be held in El Salvador. Born in Sintra and aged 26, Andreia is the daughter of Cape Verdean immigrants and, from a young age, has shown a fascination for the world of fashion. Her career has included participating in pageants such as Miss Portugal UK and Miss Intercontinental, starting in 2019. Andreia’s elevation to the title of Miss Portugal 2024 and Miss Portugal Universe not only celebrates her beauty, but also her commitment to diversity and representation.

On this special occasion, João Sousa Brand is participating for the first time in Miss Universe, with a stunning red dress specially chosen for Andreia Correia. The brand’s choice emphasizes the celebration of national talent and innovation in Portuguese design, accompanying this representative and historical milestone. The dress, made in Portugal with high-quality fabrics and designed with meticulous detail, was designed to highlight Andreia’s unique beauty while incorporating elements of Portuguese culture, the red of our flag and the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April. The combination of modern cuts and refined finishes resulted in a piece that not only shines under the lights of Mexico, but also tells a story of identity and national pride.
